Internet Anonymity Vital For Human Rights
Anonymizer CEO Speaks At Internet and Human Rights Conference
Montreal -- Anonymizer, Inc. CEO Lance Cottrell will attend the
Canadian Human Rights Foundation's conference on the Internet and
Human Rights in Montreal, Canada from Thursday through Saturday.
(http://www.chrf.ca/). Cottrell will participate in a workshop
with human rights workers, government representatives and privacy
advocates from across the globe, discussing Internet anonymity
tools, their weaknesses and strengths, and when human rights
workers can depend on them to protect their identity and safety.
"Our privacy technologies are critical to the extension of human
rights under repressive regimes," said Cottrell. "The Anonymizer
allows free speech for those who would otherwise be too afraid to
express their opinions openly. Human rights workers also use our
technologies to protect their lives when working in especially
repressive countries. We are proud to have the opportunity to
help all those working for such an important cause."
Lance Cottrell may be available for telephone interview after
the conference. Interested media should contact publicist
Michael Lamb for at (619) 220-8277 for more information.
Anonymizer, Inc. produces privacy tools such as the popular
