San Diego, CA -- Anonymizer, Inc. (www.anonymizer.com), the
leader in Internet privacy services, recently announced a
record 8 million page views by Internet users for the month
of January 1999. According to Lance Cottrell, CEO of
Anonymizer, that number places Anonymizer in the top one
percent of all the sites currently being viewed on the
      Internet .
A recent survey conducted by Boston Consulting Group says 76
percent of Internet users are concerned about sites
monitoring the user's browsing patterns. In a response to
the growing demand for its privacy services, Lance Cottrell,
CEO of Anonymizer said server capacity has been upgraded to
provide faster service for users. "There's a growing
disregard for privacy and opportunities for abuse are
increasing as technology on the Internet evolves," Cottrell
      said.
Anonymizer has also re-launched its website to include the
latest news headlines and forums to discuss online privacy.
"One of our primary goals of the updated site is to educate
Internet users regarding privacy issues directly affecting
      them," said Cottrell.
Anonymizer originally launched in 1996 to provide
comprehensive online services for protection of identity on
the Internet. Available services include Anonymizer
Surfing; Anonymizer Email; Anonymizer Dialup; and
Anonymizer Publishing. The privacy tools effectively work
as a middleman between web surfers and web hosts.
Anonymizer.com prevents "cookies" from being placed on
users' hard drives, java and javascript. Thus, blocking
all personal information from the websites users visit.
Lance Cottrell is available for interview regarding this
timely topic. Interested media should contact Michael
