Dial-up Connection Instructions - Windows 95
Changing
the Numbers in the Network Control Panel
1. Open My Computer. Open Control Panel.
Open Network. Make sure you see "Client for Microsoft Networks",
"Dial-up Adapter", and "TCP/IP" in the list of network components.
2. Add these components using the Add button
if you do not see them. To install Client for Microsoft Windows
you must select Client and then click Add. Then you
must select Microsoft and Client for Microsoft Windows and
click OK.
3. After returning to the Network Window select
TCP/IP and click Properties, then check the following:
4. Under WINS Configuration, click Disable
WINS Resolution.
5. Under Gateway, make sure no
gateways appear in the list.
6. Under IP Address, select "Obtain
an IP address automatically".
7. Under DNS Configuration, enable DNS.
Enter "ppp" in the Host box and "anonymizer.com"
in the Domain box. In the DNS Server Search Order box, enter
209.75.197.2 and click Add,
then enter 209.75.197.3 and click Add.
8. Click OK at the bottom of the Network
Control Panel. Restart your computer for the new settings to take effect.
When your computer starts back up, try to
connect to the Internet using the new "Anonymizer" Dial-up
networking icon.
