Anonymizer Publishing

Anonymizer Publishing accounts must be paid three months in advance. The cost is USD$29.95 per quarter. You submit a username and password via the web, and when we receive or verify your payment, we activate the account. These accounts provide web publishing space (2 megs) without the need to give us any information about you. If you pay via postal mail with a money order, you do not need to provide any personal information.

We strongly recommend a book on web design or a good web designer program. We cannot provide web design assitance.

You will need an FTP program (file transfer protocol) to upload your web pages and graphics to the server. For Macintosh, use Fetch to upload your pages to pub.anonymizer.com. You can obtain fetch from Info-Mac. For MS-Windows, use WS_FTP from IP Switch. You may use the free versions to upload your pages to pub.anonymizer.com. Read the instructions which accompany those FTP programs.

When you connect with your FTP program to pub.anonymizer.com, you will see a directory, here on the server, called "web" or "WWW". This is where you should place your web pages. Your URL will be https://www.anonymizerproxy.com/~username/.

We allow one free gigabyte of web traffic per month with Anonymizer Publishing accounts. If you have a popular web site, you should make sure to use graphics optimised for size to reduce bandwidth usage. If you exceed your gigabyte of free web traffic, your site will be automatically disabled. You may pre-pay for additional bandwidth using your credit card or by sending payment via postal mail.

Content of anonymously published pages must be legal in California. If you do not know if your material is legal in California, consult an attorney with experience in the legality of speech in the United States. The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to speak freely about many things -- much more than many other countries -- but not about everything.

If your content violates U.S. law, in some instances we can terminate your account without prior warning and keep your prepayment without a refund. Examples of this include, but are not limited to: advertisement of stolen goods for sale, pirated software for free distribution, illegal obscene material, and in some cases, material which violates copyright or intellectual property rights or commits clear, legally defined libel or slander. As a company policy, we do not actively browse customer material for content legality, but there are plenty of people on the web who would bring it to our attention.
