Disallowed Uses of The Anonymizer

This page is for informational purposes only. It is not in any way a contract.

The full and authoritative contract for use of most Anonymizer services is here.

The full contract and authoritative contract for use of Anonymizer Dialup is here.

  1. The Anonymizer shall not be used for sending commercial email solicitation or advertisements.
  2. The Anonymizer shall not be intentionally used to crash, slow, or intentionally harm any computer system.
  3. The Anonymizer shall not be used to harass or threaten anyone.
  4. The Anonymizer shall not be used to send mass e-mailings.
  5. The Anonymizer shall not be used to obtain unauthorized access to any computer system.
  6. The Anonymizer shall not be used in furtherance of criminal activity.
  7. The Anonymizer shall not be accessed using any automated system or using repeated high speed requests.

So long as these conditions are met, Anonymizer Inc. will take all possible legal measures to ensure the anonymity of the users of the Anonymizer. Abusers of the Anonymizer can expect no anonymity. We regret the necessity of this policy, but without it abuse will force the shutdown of the Anonymizer.

Account Policies

  1. We try to ensure that wherever possible, our users have sole possession of their data. Including your e-mail address is, therefore, optional. If you choose not to include it, you will not receive notifications regarding your account - activation (only sent for accounts applied for via postal mail), impending expiration, or special notices that we think you might like to hear about. We consider your e-mail address to be confidential information. We will never rent, sell, or otherwise reveal it to any other party without prior consent, except under the conditions set forth in the User Agreement for spamming and related abuses of netiquette, or unless we are compelled to do so by court order. Note - as we do not hold any personal information on our users that could result in compromising their privacy and security, a court order would be wholly ineffective. Whilst we do hold the necessary billing information on certain users, those for example who pay by credit card (anonymous cash payment is also available), this information could in no way be correlated with the user's Internet activities. Our billing system and our Anonymizer Services run totally independently. We maintain no information which would identify which user had sent a given message or visited a given site

  2. We will not reveal or change your password if you forget it. Since this is a service which provides anonymity, we keep as little information as possible on our users. Since we do not store phone numbers, addresses or other information which would help us identify users, we have no way of knowing the true identity of someone requesting a password. If you forget your Anonymizer password, you will not be able to use your account.

  3. No refunds will be given for Anonymizer Surfing accounts. Accounts must be prepaid for at least one quarter. This policy is necessary to prevent users from obtaining accounts for the sole purpose of abusive use as outlined above, and then cancelling those accounts after malicious acts have been carried out.

  4. Accounts may be automatically renewed. If, when you sign up for an Anonymizer Surfing account you do not select the auto-billing option, then you are signing up only for the duration indicated. We will not bill you for continued service when your account expires. It is the user's responsibility to renew his/her account if continued service is desired. If you do select the auto-bill option, then your account will be automatically renewed at the end of your subscription for the same period and with the same services as you initially subscribed for.
