(Posted by kreichard) "A great deal of Linux users have heard about PHP, the Hypertext Preprocessor. PHP is the engine behind many dynamic Web sites, including this one,

(Posted by kreichard) "In my opinion maintaining a documentation as a reference within source code is easier and more practical than having to do it in a separated document
because in this way it's easier to keep it updated. Otherwise it's very easy to become lazy and postpone updates in the documentation to a time that never
comes. Instead with a tool like this there is the little burden to update a tag near the source code you've just modified and to run the tool to generate again
the updated html pages."

computing, is moving into the mainstream -- largely because the spread of
the Internet and personal computers make it easy for programmers to
collaborate in far-flung, voluntary teams."

Beta-test and Release Candidate status, the final version which can be used for real-world site production is today
a reality. In this article, we take a quick look at PHP4's new features. PHP4 is a complete rewrite of PHP3 at the heart
of the language's engine. But why did the language's authors decide to completely rewrite it?"

(Posted by kreichard) Wireless Internet access has the opportunity to serve, literally, every person everywhere. Delivering wireless content to cellular phones and PDAs is similar to but not
exactly the same as serving traditional Internet content. Because of these products' limited physical size and communications speeds, new protocols have been
developed to package the Web for the wireless world. WAP and WML are the backbones of wireless Web. Placing the Apache Web server into this picture is a natural
and easy fit, as Aaron Weiss reports.

"The idea behind app servers is to have most of the tasks involved in generation of dynamic web pages be performed by a separate program, maybe even on a
separate machine, from the web server that serves up the pages to the browser client. This is another area where Oracle could, if they wanted to, attempt to
lock in customers by providing a proprietary web server--Netscape and Microsoft both have been doing this for years. What is Oracle bundling with iAS for you to use as its web server? It's Apache. No sign of MS-style lock-ins with this bundling!"
