Google is committed to providing policies that benefit our users, advertisers, partners, and Google. To achieve this goal, we maintain high standards for items accepted into the Google Base program. The policies listed below complement our Terms and Conditions and describe Google's posting policies with regards to all items.

In addition, you may wish to review our Editorial Guidelines. To post on Google you must adhere to both our program and editorial policies. Application of our policies will always involve an element of discretion and we reserve the right to reject or approve any item.

Please note that the decisions we make concerning posting in no way affect the search results we deliver.

Item Functionality
  • Language – All items targeting the United States and any corresponding landing pages must be in English.

  • URLs:
    • Your URLs must link to a working website. When your site is under construction or down for maintenance, you must pause your item.
    • Your URLs must link to an actual webpage with content relevant to your item. You cannot link to an email address or a file (ex. an image, audio, video, or document file) that requires an additional program or application to open or run.
    • We do not allow links to content or landing pages that require a registration or password to view.
    • We do not allow image links from sites with a robots.txt file that prevents Google from crawling images.

  • Products:
    • You must be able to ship your products throughout the United States.
    • All items for sale, and any landing pages for these items, must list prices in US dollars.
Item Type & Content

Affiliates Posting is not permitted for the promotion of affiliate sites or products sold through an affiliate marketing relationship.
Aids to Pass Drug Tests Posting is not permitted for the promotion of products such as drug cleansing shakes and urine test additives.
Anti and Violence Items and associated websites may not promote violence or advocate against a protected group. A protected group is distinguished by their:

  • Race or ethnic origin
  • Color
  • National origin
  • Religion
  • Disability
  • Sex
  • Age
  • Veteran status
  • Sexual orientation/Gender identity
 
This standard applies to everyone who wants to post on Google, whether we agree with their viewpoint or not.
Body Parts

Posting is not permitted for the promotion of body parts or human remains.

Bulk Marketing

The promotion of the following bulk marketing products is not permitted if the stated or implied use of these products is unsolicited spam:

  • Email lists that are not opt-in
  • Bulk email software
  • Bulk messaging

Cable Descramblers
and Black Boxes 		Posting is not permitted for products that descramble cable and satellite signals in order to get free cable services.
Copyrighted Materials All items must respect copyright law. Posting is not permitted for the promotion of pirated materials.
Counterfeit Designer Goods Posting is not permitted for products that are replicas, or imitations, of designer goods.
Dialers We do not permit items that are associated with dialers in any way.
Duplication and Mirrors We do not permit duplicate posted content, or the promotion of mirrored sites or products. Posting using automated software programs or "robots" is not permitted.
Drugs Posting is not permitted for the promotion of illegal drugs or herbal drugs such as salvia and magic mushrooms.
Explosive Devices Posting is not permitted for the promotion of bombs or explosive devices, or information on how to create these devices.
Fake Documents Posting is not permitted for the promotion of fake IDs, passports, diplomas, and noble titles.
False Representation You may not post on behalf of Google, or otherwise impersonate a Google employee.
Gambling Posting is not permitted for online casinos, sports books, bingo, and affiliates with the primary purpose of driving traffic to online gambling sites.
Hacking and
Cracking Sites 		Posting is not permitted for the promotion of hacking or cracking. For example, items must not provide instructions or equipment to illegally access or tamper with software, servers, or websites.
Illegal Goods and
Services 		You must post in accordance with the laws of your target country. Posting is not permitted for the promotion of unlicensed, unauthorized, or stolen goods, or any other illegal goods or services.
Keyword Stuffing You may not post excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the "title," "description," or "category" fields. Please use the labels feature to include terms relevant to your item.
Knives and Weapons Posting is not permitted for the promotion of illegal knives or other illegal weapons.
Miracle Cures Posting is not permitted for the promotion of miracle cures, such as "Cure cancer overnight!"
Mod Chips Posting is not permitted for the promotion of mod chips, such as devices that unlock copyright protection.
Multi-level Marketing Posting is not permitted for the promotion of multi-level marketing sites or products sold through a multi-level marketing program.
Personal Information You may not post content that includes contact or personal information about another individual without their permission.
Precious Metals Posting is not permitted for the promotion of raw precious metals.
Prescription Drugs Posting is not permitted for the promotion of prescription drugs without valid SquareTrade certification. The SquareTrade program is only open to pharmacies based in the United States or Canada.
Prostitution Posting is not permitted for the promotion of prostitution.
Sexual Content
(Adult) 		Posting is not permitted for the promotion of child pornography or other non-consensual material.
Wholesale Currency
Exchanges 		Posting is not permitted for the promotion of wholesale currency exchanges.
