Oh yeah, and also...

Oh, and in other news, keep an eye C-SPAN today because John Roberts will begin his Confirmation hearings.

Jessica, from Feministing will be doing some live blogging over at BushvChoice to keep us updated on what's happening. For the most part, not too much is expected to happen today. The real meat will occur later in the week but it might not be a bad idea to keep pace with Jessica over there just to be sure.

The reason I note this is because I believe that this day will signal the beginning of the fight we are in for to keep our birth control. When Roberts is sworn in as Chief Justice the balance will tip and Roe will be overturned, as well as the basis for Roe which was 'Right to Privacy' with that gone, there will be little in place to keep the right wing from attacking what they really want, which is NO birth control.

So, in essence, today is going to be the first day of the loss of women's rights as we know them.

Cynical much? *smile*
