Dial-up Connection Instructions - Windows NT
Configuring
Anonymizer Dial-Up Networking
These instructions assume that you don't
have Dial-up Networking configured on your computer so please disregard
all installation instructions.
Installing Dial-up
Networking
- Open the My Computer Icon on your Desktop.
And click on the Dial-Up Networking Icon. If it has never been installed
on your computer before then the installation program will automatically
load.
- Click Install to begin the Installation.
You will need to have your Windows NT CD.
- Select the appropriate modem and click continue.
Restart you computer after the installation is done. Continue with
Configuration.
Configuring Dial-up
Networking
- Click on Dial-Up Networking again.
If you have a previous Dial-Up connection you should click on the New button
otherwise if the phonebook is empty you will be automatically sent to the
new connection wizard.
- Enter Anonymizer in the phone book entry field.
Make sure that there is no check mark in Edit properties directly box.
- Click on the next Button. Put a Check
box in Calling the Internet . Click Next.
- Enter the area code and telephone number for
the local number in your area. Check Dial-up
Numbers for the number closest to you, and check your phone
book so you can dial this number without a toll. Click Next.
Click Finish.
- Select the Edit entry and modem properties
from under the More button.
- Click on the Server Tab.
- Select the Dial-up server type as PPP;
WindowsNT, Windows95 plus, Internet
- Select TCP/IP as the only network protocol.
- Leave other choices at defaults.
- Click on the TCP/IP Settings button.
- Check Server assigned IP address.
- Check Server assigned name server addresses.
- Leave others choices as defaults. Click
OK.
Click Dial.
- Enter your Anonymizer Username in the User
Name field.
- Enter your Anonymizer Password in the Password
Field.
- Remove all text from the Domain field
if there is any present.
- Click on the Save password box.
Click OK.
Your modem should now dial and connect you
to the Internet through the Anonymizer.
