Publishing Set Up

When you purchase an Anonymizer Publishing account you will receive 2 Megs of web space. Please Note: We cannot provide support on writing web pages. However, programs such as Netscape Composer or Microsoft Word can help you compose web pages. Netscape's development area also contains many good references for web pages.

When you are ready to transfer your web pages you will need an FTP program. Netscape and Internet Explorer will allow you to connect to our site by entering ftp://yourusername@pub.anonymizer.com in the Location Bar. Enter your password at the prompt. You will see a folder in your directory called "WWW". Left click on this folder. The "WWW" folder is where you will place all of your html documents. With Netscape and IE, you merely have to drag the document over the browser window and release to upload the page.

If you would like a more robust FTP program then there are many free programs available on the web such as WS_FTP from IPSwitch and CuteFTP from GlobalScape.

Your home page should be named index.html or index.shtml. People can view your web pages by going to:

https://www.anonymizerproxy.com/~yourusername

We can not provide you with your own personal domain name (eg. www.yourusername.com) because web sites can not be anonymously registered. If you have any further questions, please contact Support.
