How to setup F-Secure for Anonymizer's Secure Tunneling
Service.
This tutorial will show you how to set up SSH for use
with the Anonymizer. By using SSH, your connection to the
Anonymizer
will travel through an encrypted channel, which will protect your surfing
activities from being monitored by your Internet Service Provider.
SSH can also be used to secure other kinds of
connections, such as news and e-mail.
Directions for setting
up F-Secure
Follow these steps to setup F-Secure:
- Open F-Secure.
- From the toolbar select 'File, then 'Profiles,' then 'Edit Profiles.'
- For 'Host name or IP address' enter 'cyberpass.net'.
- For 'User Name' enter your Anonymizer username.
- 'SSH Server Port #' should be set to 22. 'Auto-connect on open' should be unchecked.
- Click on the 'Local Forwarding' tab.
- Click 'Add', for 'Source Port' enter '80', 'Destination Host' enter
'cyberpass.net', 'Destination Port' enter '80', click 'OK'.
- Click 'Add' again, for 'Source Port' enter '110', 'Destination Host'
enter 'mail.anonymizer.com', 'Destination Port' enter '110', click 'OK'.
- Click 'Add' again, for 'Source Port' enter '25', 'Destination Host' enter
'smtp.anonymizer.com', 'Destination Port' enter '25', click 'OK'.
- Click 'Add' again, for 'Source Port' enter '119', 'Destination Host'
enter 'Tnews.anonymizer.com', 'Destination Port' enter '119', click 'OK'.
- Click 'Add' again, for 'Secure Port' enter '9999', 'Destination Host' enter 'cyberpass.net', 'Destination Port' enter '9999', click 'OK'.
- Click 'OK' again.
- To connect click on 'Quick Connect' then press 'Connect'.
- Enter your password and click 'OK'.
- You should see a message in F-Secure such as below.
- Your are now connected to the Secure Tunnel.
- In order to use Anonymizer's Secure Tunneling service, you must log into
cyberpass.net
before starting web browsers and email/news clients.
