Anonymizer Surfing TutorialFree Surfing TutorialOur service functions as an intermediary between you
and the sites you visit. We filter out any information traveling between
the web site and your computer that could be used to track or identify you.
We hide your IP address, location, software configuration, and browsing
habits from the sites you visit. To start surfing, simply enter the site to visit into the box and press "Go". You will be shown a splash page that explains some of the benefits of our Premium service. After a short delay, the splash page forwards you to the site you entered. From then on, you are surfing anonymously. Any links that you click will also be loaded anonymously. There are only two differences between "normal" surfing and anonymous surfing: first, each page you visit anonymously includes a blue Anonymizer control bar at its top; second, when you want to jump to a new web site you should type its address into this control bar rather than your browser's "Location:" or "Address:" bar. Please Note: Typing the address directly into your browser's "Location:" or "Address:" bar will cause you to go there directly, without using the Anonymizer. The Anonymizer control bar looks something like this: |
Searching the web anonymously is very easy with the Anonymizer. One way is to type the keywords to search for into the "FREE Anonymous Searching" box on our Free Surfing Page. You can also search anonymously without returning to our pages by using the Anonymizer control bar that is found at the top of each page you load through our service. Check the "Search anonymously for" box, type the keywords to search for, and press the "Find" button. (Note: If you have JavaScript turned off the button will say "Go" instead). Note that you can also search anonymously by visiting the search engines directly: simply type the address of the engine to use (e.g., www.google.com) into the Anonymizer control bar, press "Go", and use the site as you normally would!
There are several ways to quit your anonymous browsing session. The easiest way is simply to quit your browser. Loading a page "normally" will also cause your browser to stop using the Anonymizer. This can be done by clicking your browser's "Home," "Search," or similar button, by going to one of your bookmarks, or by typing a new web site to visit directly into your browser's "Location:" or "Address:" bar.
Premium Surfing users can log in by clicking
the "Members Login" link at the top of the menu bar located on the
left-hand side of all our web pages. At the login page you will be
prompted to enter your username and password and select the extra
features you would
like active for your surfing session. These features include
the added flexibility
of Safe Cookies
and the added security of
URL
Encryption.
After filling out your information you can start surfing by entering a
web site to visit and pressing "Go" or by entering something to search for and
pressing "Find."
When visiting sites with the Premium service, you will notice that there is a Control Panel button as well as indicators of the status of URL Encryption and Safe Cookies. The Control Panel is used to perform useful tasks such as switching URL Encryption and Safe Cookies on or off, logging out, and so forth. The search and jump capabilities of the Premium tool bar are the same as with the free service. The Premium tool bar is shown below:
