ABOUT SECURE TUNNELING ABOUT F-SECURE SSH

The Anonymizer provides Secure Shell (SSH) access for secure connections to our servers. This extends the Anonymizer Surfing service by allowing you to secure your mail and news access. Plus, this service adds the extra protection of a completely encrypted connection, for privacy beyond what standard consumer products offer.

Here's what you get:

• Secure encrypted connection to our servers
• Free email address
• Anonymizer Surfing
• Anonymous Web Publishing

Why Do I Need Secure Tunneling?

When you connect normally to the Internet, your transactions are relayed through several servers before reaching their final destination. These servers have the ability to collect information as your requests are routed through them. The most common example of a server that can collect information about your Internet activity is your Internet Service Provider (ISP). (Click here for more info about our anonymous ISP service). Since your requests are not encrypted, any server between you and your final destination can "see" what you are doing.

How Does it Work?
You can use your Anonymizer Secure Tunneling account to encrypt the Internet activity between your computer our servers. This prevents any servers between you and us, such as your ISP, from monitoring your activities. Anonymizer Secure Tunneling accounts allow you to encrypt your incoming and outgoing email, surfing and news posts through a method known as port forwarding. This service can be used independently of or transparently in conjunction with Anonymizer Surfing.

F-Secure SSH Client consists of three integrated components:

  • F-Secure SSH Terminal provides the user with secure login connections over unknown or untrusted networks.
  • F-Secure SSH Tunnel enables secure tunneling of Internet protocol services like email and web browsing.
  • F-Secure SSH File Transfer provides a secure method for file transfers over insecure networks.

F-Secure SSH Client authenticates server and encrypts traffic between the client and server.

Key Features
* Secure file transfer using SFTP or SCP, replacing the insecure FTP protocol.
* Secure tunneling of TCP/IP protocols enable secure Internet connections (e.g. e-mail, data base access).
* All traffic is encrypted using strong encryption: 3DES, Blowfish, Twofish, Arcfour, CAST128 or DES.
* Public key or password based user authentication.
* Host authentication to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks.
* Application level software, which is easy to install and use.
