InstallationThe following steps will help you easily install your Anonymizer software. Our InstallAware Wizard will guide you through each step. Images are provided for additional clarification to visually guide you through the process.
*Special Note to current Anonymizer customers:
Start by uninstalling all Anonymizer programs you have installed previously on your computer. Go to the “Control Panel” and “Uninstall a Program” (Windows Vista/ 7) or “Add/ Remove Programs” (Windows XP). Select “Uninstall” or “Remove” for all Anonymizer programs listed. This is critical for previous “Anonymous Surfing” users.

Click on “Download” on the website and select “Run” or “Save.” Double click on the “Anonymizer Universal” icon if you saved the installation file to your computer
Step 2Top ↑Select “Yes” when prompted by the User Account Control.
Step 3Top ↑You will see the “InstallAware Wizard.” Click “Next” to continue
Step 4Top ↑Read the licensing agreement, check the “I accept the license agreement” box and then “Next.”
Step 5Top ↑The next window will allow you to select your destination path; simply click “Next.” DO NOT change the installation path!
Step 6Top ↑In this step, you can choose to install the software for “All Users” or “Just Me.” In addition‚ you can choose to add shortcuts to either the desktop or Quick Launch (or both). Once you have made your selections, click “Next.”
Step 7Top ↑You are now ready to install the software. Click “Next” to continue. The installation process will then begin
Step 8Top ↑Choose “Finish” to begin running the software
Step 9Top ↑After installation is complete, you will be brought to the Anonymizer Universal screen. Select “Connect.”
Step 10Top ↑Enter your Anonymizer Account “Username” and “Password” and check the box “Save Information.” Then click “OK.”
Step 11Top ↑You will then receive the message “Connecting” as your connection is established with the Anonymizer servers
Step 12Top ↑You will then receive the message “Protected” and the IP address displayed is the Anonymizer IP address issued for that day. The icon will be blue to indicate you are protected
RemoveRemoving Anonymizer Universal on your PC is quick-and-easy. Simply follow these 8 steps to uninstall.
Begin by right clicking the “Anonymizer Universal” icon in the lower right-hand corner of your system tray and then choose “Exit.”
Step 2Top ↑Click on the “Start” icon in the lower left-hand corner and then choose “Control Panel.”
Step 3Top ↑Choose “Uninstall a program” under “Programs” or “Add or Remove Programs.”
Step 4Top ↑Choose “Anonymizer Universal” from the list and select “Uninstall” to begin the “Uninstall Wizard.”
Step 5Top ↑Select “Yes” when prompted by the User Account Control.
Step 6Top ↑Select “Remove” to uninstall completely and then “Next” to continue.
Step 7Top ↑Although it will appear to be installing the software, it is actually beginning the uninstall process.
Step 8Top ↑Select “Finish” once you have received the message “Anonymizer Universal has been uninstalled successfully.”
