Welcome to Anonymizer's
Secure Tips Online Program (STOP)

Through our Secure Tips Online Program (STOP), Anonymizer.com donates anonymous Web tip technology to qualifying law enforcement agencies, non-profit organizations and the media.

This will provide Web site visitors with a safe, secure and private means of communicating sensitive information over the Internet, without fear of identification or negative repercussions. It will also serve to deter, detect and help solve a wide variety of crimes and offenses.

The purpose of STOP is to encourage individuals with helpful information – who might otherwise remain silent out of concern for personal safety, or fear of harassment or retribution – to come forward. This is of special concern to people whose communications may be monitored by their government, employer or Internet service provider (ISP).

The technology behind STOP was developed by Anonymizer.com in the wake of 9/11 to help the FBI collect anonymous tips over the Internet. It soon proved to be a valuable tool in the war against terrorism, providing anonymous access to the FBI's Terrorism Activity tip page to over 26,000 individuals around the world.

To Participate in STOP
Organizations that qualify for Anonymizer.com’s STOP program include:
  • U.S. federal, state or local government agencies, such as law enforcement or military organizations, schools and public works agencies
  • Reputable U.S. or international media organizations with an established Web presence
  • Established U.S. or international non-profit organizations with a proven commitment to justice, democracy and human rights
If your organization is interested in participating, please use the contact form below to let us know. Anonymizer.com will work with program participants to develop an Anonymous Tip Submission page on their Web site, which will use Anonymizer privacy and security technology to shield the identity of users from network administrators, employers, hackers, ISPs, and other Web sites. Even the host Web site will not be able to record any identifiable data about the user. For most Web sites, the process simply involves submitting a URL to Anonymizer and receiving an Anonymizer-protected version in return
