Sweep on shutdown

Selecting this option will automatically sweep the files you have selected in Advanced Mode for all the Options when you close the program.

File secure delete method

Some Options in Total System Sweeper give the user the capability to delete files, images, histories and temporary storage in a more secure manner. The option to "delete", "recycle" or "secure delete" is given to allow for these files to be deleted in the corresponding manner.

Secure Delete Passes

If a user selects to use "secure delete" for either files or free space, this option gives the capability to specify how many times the deleted content for these files are overwritten with random data. 1-2 passes are generally not sufficient for a full deletion of data. 3 passes is considered to be moderate protection. The U.S. government recommends 7 passes for a truly complete deletion of all data. Please note, that 3 passes is the default setting and could take hours depending on the amount of data that is being secure deleted.

Sweep Hot Key

This allows the user to specify a key-combination to start a "sweep" from within Total System Sweeper.
