- New Privacy Control - New cookie control features permit personalized web pages from trusted sites, but block any unapproved transfer of personal information to third-party sites. This allows users to obtain maximum benefit from personalization of trusted sites while blocking unauthorized snooping from untrusted, third party sites such as ad servers. ZoneAlarm Pro also protects user's privacy by blocking 'web bugs' that track and collect personal information when users view HTML email or personalized web pages that include these web bugs.

What is the AlertAdvisor?
ZoneAlarm Pro users can access the AlertAdvisor to obtain up-to-the-minute, context-specific help about security events occurring on their PCs and make better decisions about those events. Access to the AlertAdvisor service is included in the price for ZoneAlarm Pro .
The AlertAdvisor has been completely rewritten and expanded substantially so that all ZoneAlarm Pro users, whether novice or advanced, have easy access to an extensive security knowledgebase.
In addition, the AlertAdvisor in ZoneAlarm Pro contains a graphical utility that maps the address of any PC that is attempting to probe the ZoneAlarm Pro user's PC to make tracing hackers more useful and intuitive. Unlike other graphical utilities that perform similar functions, identifying information about the victimized PC is not revealed when performing the search so a user's security is not compromised while locating the perpetrator.
Does Zone Labs support Windows 95?
Zone Labs Inc. supports a balanced, multi-layered approach to security. An important part of this approach includes keeping software updated with the latest security patches.
On November 30, 2001 Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 95, making it even less secure than before (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/lifecycleconsumer.asp). Windows 95 is an older operating system, and is therefore inherently more vulnerable to security holes than newer operating systems. This is because the longer a software product is out, the longer hackers have to find vulnerabilities.
Because old and unsupported software such as this goes against our core security philosophy, Zone Labs will cease to support Windows 95 to coincide with the introduction of our version consumer product family, ZoneAlarm Pro and ZoneAlarm .
There are no plans to discontinue support for any other Microsoft operating systems. This announcement applies to consumer products only and does not affect enterprise products.
